Africa to be youngest continent by mid-21st century

The population of Africa will reach approximately 2.5 billion people by 2050, the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) said, Report informs.
As noted, by the mid-21st century, the average age of residents in African countries will be 20 years. This will make Africa the youngest continent in the world.
According to the UNECA, the young population is a valuable demographic asset that can be used as a workforce for industrial development.
