At least 9 people died and 7 were injured as a result of floods in Parwan province in the east of Afghanistan, said Hikmatullah Shamim, the Parwan Governor's Spokesman, Report informs.
According to him, floods hit several villages of the province after heavy rains on Tuesday afternoon, destroying 200 houses, hundreds of hectares of farmland, 36 km of roads, several water channels and killing dozens of animals.
Afghanistan's meteorological services predict that rains will increase and floods will occur in some areas of the mountainous country in the coming days.
