Seven people became victims of strong winds and hail in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangxi, and about 93,000 more were injured, according to the provincial flood control headquarters, Report informs referring to TASS.
Since March 31, nine cities and 54 counties have been in the disaster zone. Emergency services evacuated over 800 people to safe places. The hail destroyed agricultural crops on an area of 5,700 hectares, more than 90 buildings were completely destroyed or seriously damaged.
According to preliminary estimates, the disaster caused direct economic damage to the province in the amount of 150 million yuan (about $21.1 million).
