6.6-magnitude quake occures off coast of Japan

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 occurred in the Philippine Sea off the eastern coast of Kyushu Island, Japan, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said, Report informs.
The US Geological Survey assessed the earthquake at magnitude 6.9.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 30 km near Miyazaki prefecture.
After the earthquake, Japanese authorities issued a tsunami warning for Miyazaki and Kochi prefectures. The authorities are urging people to stay away from the sea and move away from the coastline.
