35 people die in snowstorms, rainfalls in Pakistan

At least 35 people died, nearly 30 suffered in snowstorms and showers in the northeast and northwest of Pakistan, Report informs.

At least 23 people, including ten children, have died in Pakistan’s popular hill station Murree after heavy overnight snowfall caused traffic jams that trapped tourists in their vehicles, with many freezing to death and some likely dying due to asphyxiation from car fumes.

The Pakistani military cleared the snow-stricken highway by Monday, unblocking the traffic. All affected tourists received assistance, with hundreds of people placed in temporary campuses.

At least 12 residents died, nearly 30 suffered before as rainfalls hit the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the northwest of Pakistan. Over 20 houses were destroyed by the flooding caused by rain.
