217 anti-pension reform protesters arrested in Paris

The number of people detained during the protests against pension reform in the center of Paris has risen to 217, BFMTV said early Friday, Report informs.
Police used tear gas and water cannon to disperse the crowd after a fire was lit in the center of the square, close to an Egyptian obelisk that has stood there for close to 200 years. Even after the rally was dispersed, some protesters lit fires and caused damage to shop fronts in side streets, AFP reporters said.
