The Parliament of Azerbaijan approved the new law "On Demining" in its final reading.
According to Report, the decision was made at today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis.
The law, consisting of three chapters and 14 articles, will regulate the organization and implementation of mine action activities in Azerbaijan.
However, the document does not apply to the mine action activities of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan aimed at ensuring the country's security and defense.
One of the provisions of the law is the creation of a demining information system. It also provides for additional placement of warning signs in dangerous areas to prevent threats to people's lives, health, and property.
Mine explosion victims will receive free psychological and medical assistance. The financing of mine action activities will be carried out from the state budget and other sources not prohibited by law.
