The Parliament of Azerbaijan has adopted in the first reading amendments to legislation raising the minimum age for acquiring civilian weapons to 21 years, Report informs.
The corresponding amendments to the Criminal Code and the law "On Service and Civilian Weapons" were considered at today's (February 14) session of the parliament.
Previously, the age requirement for purchasing civilian weapons in Azerbaijan was 18 years.
The right to acquire service and civilian weapons belongs to state bodies and legal entities performing special statutory tasks, enterprises engaged in the development, testing, production or sale of weapons, sports and hunting societies, as well as educational institutions.
