Azerbaijan's embassies in Libya and Syria, as well as the Consulate General in Odesa, Ukraine, are currently not functioning, Samad Seyidov, the Chairman of the Committee on International Relations and Inter-Parliamentary Ties of the Milli Majlis, said.

According to Report, speaking during a joint session with the Committee on Legal Policy and State Building, where the new bill "On Diplomatic Service" was being discussed, Seyidov highlighted the significant growth in Azerbaijan's diplomatic presence since the adoption of the law "On Diplomatic Service" in 2001.

At that time, Azerbaijan had around 40 diplomatic missions. Today, the country boasts an impressive network of 71 embassies, 5 permanent representations, 1 representative office in Palestine, and 15 consulates.
