Azerbaijan banning consanguine marriages

Marriages between blood relatives will be banned in Azerbaijan, Report informs.
In this regard, it is proposed to amend the Family Code.
According to the amendments, the number of circumstances preventing marriage will be increased.
According to the document, marriages between children of brothers and (or) sisters who have a common biological grandfather and (or) grandmother, and cousins who are biologically related are prohibited.
The draft also puts forward proposals to expand the circle of subjects between whom marriage is not allowed.
