"The Baku Transport Agency and the Interior Ministry in the capital will impose fines for violating parking rules," MP Kamal Jafarov said during the discussion of the proposed amendments to the law “On Traffic” and the Code of Administrative Offenses in the first reading at today's parliamentary session, Report informs.
The same fines in the districts will be imposed by the Interior Ministry, he added.
The draft amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses were adopted in the first reading in the Milli Majlis today. Under the amendment, the fine for parking other vehicles in the parking lots intended for vehicles of persons with disabilities is increased from 10 to 20 manats.
According to another amendment, the fine for those parking cars with a maximum weight of more than 3.5 tons in parking lots, as well as obstructing free parking by reservation of parking spaces and other means is increased from 10 to 20 manats.
According to another amendment, individuals will be fined 200 manats, officials 500 manats, and legal entities 2,000 manats for organizing illegal paid parking lots on state and municipal roads.
Under the amendment, a vehicle will be fined 40 manats for illegal stopping on a carriageway on the sidewalks in the second or subsequent rows from the relevant side of the road, as well as at the intersection of traffic and less than 5 meters from the edge of the intersection.
Simultaneously, in a parking area of public transport, marked with 1.17, 1.17.1 marking lines, in the absence of such a platform, less than 15 meters on both sides of both road signs with 5.12, 5.13 road signs, as well as in the parking lots of taxis, marked with sign 5.14, a fine of 40 manats will be imposed for stopping vehicles.
Those who park a vehicle for more than 48 hours on a parking lot will be fined 20 manats.
