State Security Service: Dissemination of video materials about Azerbaijani Army in social networks entails serious legal liability

The distribution of video materials about the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan in social networks entails serious legal liability, Report informs referring to the statement of the State Security Service of Azerbaijan.

It is noted that in recent days, some Telegram channels associated with the special services of Armenia have been placing calls for filming and distributing video materials through social networks about the military formations of the Azerbaijani army, their location, movement, combat and mobilization training, as well as about the weapons and military equipment in the arsenal.

“Such cases are taken under control by the State Security Service of Azerbaijan. The necessary measures will be taken against persons who try to commit similar actions,” the statement says.

The State Security Service called it absolutely unacceptable to shoot and distribute video footage that seriously damages the national security and defense capability of Azerbaijan, as well as containing information about the Armed Forces of the country and constituting a state secret.

“We urge citizens to refrain from such actions,” the State Security Service noted.

According to the statement, the intentional commission of these unlawful acts is the subject of an investigation on suspicion of committing crimes related to the disclosure of state secrets, and in some cases - high treason, and entails appropriate measures of legal liability.
