NATO Major General visits Azerbaijan as part of Partnership for Peace program

Deputy Chief of Staff of the NATO Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum, Major General Stefan Fix is on a visit to Azerbaijan.
Report informs, citing the Swedish Embassy in Baku, that the delegation headed by Stefan Fix arrived in Baku to participate in a series of events organized jointly by NATO and Azerbaijan within the framework of the Partnership for Peace program.
A meeting was held at the diplomatic mission between the Swedish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Tobias Lorentzon and Major General Fix and his accompanying delegation.
"The visit to Azerbaijan is aimed at continuing interaction with Azerbaijani colleagues at the level of key leaders to support the implementation of NATO partnership activities," the embassy said.
"Azerbaijan, as a NATO partner country, cooperates with allies and other partner countries of the Alliance on a wide range of issues - from security and defense reforms to combating terrorism. In addition, Azerbaijan has participated in various operations and missions under the auspices of NATO. In 2025-2026, NATO contact functions in Azerbaijan are performed by the embassies of Slovakia and Sweden in Baku," the diplomatic mission noted.
