The Law 'On Media' aims to improve the country's information environment, strengthen national information resources, preserve and ensure pluralism of opinions in journalism, Report informs, quoting Natig Mammadli, head of the Media Development Agency (MEDIA) department for work with media subjects and journalists.
According to Mammadli, on the day the bill 'On media' was signed into law, the state granted journalists the right to preferential mortgage.
He stressed that this is an indicator of the attention the Azerbaijani President pays to the social problems of media representatives.
"The state, without imposing any obligations, has extended privileges to media representatives, which are provided for civil servants, teachers, scientists, athletes who have achieved high results. This is also a step aimed at raising the prestige of the profession of a journalist and the media in general," Mammadli said.
