Fernando Soares: Media literacy is crucial in modern world

Media literacy plays a crucial role in the modern world and is one of the fundamental factors of a sustainable information space, Executive Director of Euronews in Baku Fernando Soares, said at a panel session of the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum, Report informs.

"Media literacy is not just the skill of reading news. It is the ability to analyze received information, verify its authenticity, recognize manipulative approaches and understand who is behind certain content. Critical thinking and conscious consumption of information — that's what forms a healthy and sustainable society today," noted Soares.
