Russian military expert hails Shusha city’s future-oriented development

The 5th Congress of World Azerbaijanis in Shusha is symbolic and demonstrates the direction of Azerbaijan’s development, Russian military expert, editor-in-chief of the Natsionalnaya Oborona (National Defense) magazine Igor Korotchenko told Report.

“The main aspiration and desire of the hearts of Azerbaijanis from all over the world is the revival of Karabakh after many years of occupation, plunder, destruction of cultural and historical monuments,” Korotchenko said.

He noted that he himself visited Shusha twice after the liberation of the city.

“I personally visited Shusha twice. These trips made an indelible impression on me. The energy of the city, architectural masterpieces are reborn after many years of Armenian occupation. Shusha is looking to the future. It is not only the cultural capital of the Turkic world, but also an important city in every sense,” said Korotchenko.

He noted that the holding of the congress in Shusha embodies justice and striving for the future.

“I want to congratulate all Azerbaijanis on this significant event, they will get incomparable feelings. All destroyed monuments are being restored today with the help of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. It is important that life conquers evil, good conquers evil,” he said.
