Beijing welcomes the talks held in Brussels on April 6 between the president of Azerbaijan and the prime minister of Armenia, as well as the entire negotiation process between Baku and Yerevan, aimed at jointly maintaining peace and stability in the region, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said on April 7, Report informs citing Russian media.
“The Chinese side welcomes the decision of both sides to resolve existing differences through dialogue and consultations, and sincerely hopes that both sides will implement the agreements and jointly maintain peace and stability in the region,” the Chinese diplomat said.
Zhao Lijian reminded that both Azerbaijan and Armenia are in partnership relations of friendly cooperation with China.
On April 6, President Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the European Council Charles Michel and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan in Brussels.
