More than 500 people of Armenian origin were handed over to the other side during the First Karabakh War, and 181 people after the Second Karabakh War, said Ismayil Akhundov, Secretary of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, Head of the Working Group, at the first international "Forensic Archeology and Forensic Anthropology: Humanitarian Applications" conference, Report informs.
According to him, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) participated in the mutual handover of the corpses of hundreds of people from both sides who died on the front line and in battle, as well as those who died in captivity during the conflict: “In general, during the cooperation period that began in 1992, about 700 humanitarian processes were implemented with the close participation of the ICRC.”
