Azerbaijani MoD: Tensions continue in direction of Kalbajar

The response measures taken by the Azerbaijani Army to prevent the provocation launched by the Armenian armed forces in the direction of the Kalbajar region on the night of July 28 continue, MoD told Report.

"Our units have taken the necessary steps to neutralize the firing points of the opposite side.

"Reports of alleged damage to civilian facilities in Armenia are false and misleading. The Armenian military-political leadership continues to spread incorrect information to confuse the Armenian public and the international community.

"We call on the military-political leadership of Armenia to refrain from provocations and deliberate aggravation of the situation on the state border of the two countries and start negotiations on the delimitation of the state border in a civilized manner.

"We reaffirm that Armenia bears full responsibility for escalating tensions along the state border between the two countries.

"At present, the operational conditions in this direction are under the control of our units.

"In order to ensure the inviolability of the borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan, all provocations by Armenia will continue to be firmly prevented," stated the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.
