Baku. 17 August. REPORT.AZ/ The world’s longest glass bridge, which is built in China, will open to visitors on Saturday, August 20.

Report informs citing the Xinhua news Agency, the length of the bridge, according to the latest data, is 430 meters long and six meters. Earlier it was reported that the bridge length is 393 meters. The bridge is located at an altitude of 300 meters above the ground. At the same time the bridge can withstand 800 visitors.

The management company stated that the maximum number of visitors to the bridge will be limited to around 8 thousand people per day. Those wishing to get to record the bridge will have to book a visit the day before.

In early December last year it was reported that the bridge, built in the National Park of Zhangjiajie (Hunan province), will be open for visitors by may 1, 2016. However, the process of construction was delayed. Later it was reported that the bridge will open for visitors in July, as in the region a long time there were heavy rains.

Earlier, the builders said glass coating of the bridge took about 100 tests for safety that the designers were convinced that the bridge can withstand the weight of 800 people. In addition, the bridge passed additional tests on resistance to temperature changes of the environment and the rocking in the wind.

Zhangjiajie national Park attracts visitors with views of nature, which, for example, was shown in the film by American Director James Cameron’s “Avatar”.
