Volume of cargo transported via BTK up by 26%

Some 540,000 tons of cargo was transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway line in 2022, which is 26.1% more than in 2021, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Rovshan Rustamov said, Report informs.
According to him, 428,000 tons of cargo were transported through BTK last year: “The construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line began in 2007, and the first line was commissioned in 2017. The 850-kilometer railroad creates great opportunities for us, including access to the European space and, today, a great potential on the western route.”
