Uzbekistan proposes to establish a Council of Railway Administrations within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) with headquarters in Tashkent, President of Uzbekistan Shafkat Mirziyoyev said today at the OTS summit in Shusha, Report informs.

“We consider it expedient to widely involve the Alliance of Logistics Centers and Shippers of Turkic States, created last week in Tashkent, in shaping the agenda and implementing the priority tasks of our Organization in the transport sector. I am sure you will approve our proposal to form a Council of Railway Administrations within the Organization and locate its directorate in Tashkent,” Mirziyoyev said, as quoted by his press service.

He noted that the OTS countries are resolutely aimed at accessing the main world markets and reviving the Great Silk Road.

“We could give instructions to the ministers of trade and transport so that before our next summit they jointly develop comprehensive measures to make the most effective use of the opportunities of international corridors, complete digitalization of road transportation and create green corridors,” he said.

Mirziyoyev also noted the constant growth in cargo transportation volumes along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor: “The introduction of optimal tariffs for business will undoubtedly significantly increase the competitiveness and attractiveness of this corridor. We are interested in establishing the Single Window system and ensuring the continuous operation of customs and border checkpoints.”
