Water shortage in Azerbaijan, as well as throughout the world, has become a serious problem, Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliamentary Committee on Agrarian Policy Tahir Rzayev said at today's meeting of the committee, Report informs.
“The Kura river has become shallow in some areas, there is almost no water. A similar situation is observed in the Aras River. There are several reasons for this, including climate change. Other reasons are the increase in cultivated areas in the country, as well as population growth,” he noted.
