Romania is an important partner of Kazakhstan within the framework of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, Middle Corridor), Report informs, citing Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport.

"Today, a conference titled 'Port of Constanta - European Hub of the Middle Corridor' was held in Astana. The event was organized with the support of the Romanian Embassy in Kazakhstan. The conference was attended by the leadership of the Kazakhstan Ministry of Transport, as well as representatives of business in the transport and logistics sector," the ministry said in a statement.

The conference participants gor informed about the capabilities of the Port of Constanta, and discussed cooperation options and development strategies.

"Romania is an important partner of Kazakhstan within the Middle Corridor framework. The parties are actively working to transform the TITR into a modern, multimodal and efficient route with the shortest delivery time," the statement reads.

In the first nine months of 2024, the volume of cargo transportation increased by 69% to 3.4 million tons. Also, transit container transportation from China to Europe and back increased by more than 20 times (24,000 TEU).
