Passenger traffic via Azerbaijan Railways up 33%

In 2021, Azerbaijan Railways transported over 2.8 million passengers, an increase of 33% over 2020, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan Railways.
The Baku-Sumgayit electric trains were responsible for 97.2% of passenger conveyance, after transporting over 2.7 million people, marking an increase of 51.1% from the previous year.
Global passenger traffic dropped by 100% due to the coronavirus pandemic, and internal traffic fell by 71.3% to 79,344 throughout the year.
