Passenger traffic by air in Azerbaijan up nearly 3%

In January-July of 2025, 2,282,000 passengers were transported by air in Azerbaijan, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.7%, or 72,000 passengers, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
During this period, 99.9% of air transportation was carried out by state-owned vehicles, while 0.1% was carried out by private vehicles.
Over the course of seven months, Azerbaijan’s cargo transportation by air dropped by 4.22%, or 9,900 tons YoY, to 223,500 tons.
In 2025, the volume of goods transported by economic entities operating in Azerbaijan’s transport sector amounted to 136.9 million tons. Some 0.2% of the goods were transported by air.
