Passenger traffic at Heydar Aliyev Int’l Airport to exceed 5.7M by year-end

Passenger traffic at Heydar Aliyev International Airport has exceeded 5.3 million for 11 months of 2023, Director of Heydar Aliyev International Airport Teymur Hasanov said, Report informs.

“In the first 11 months, the total number of passengers on domestic and international flights was 21.2% higher than the same period in 2019,” he noted.

He added that by the end of the year, passenger traffic will increase by 20 percent compared to 2019 and will exceed 5.7 million people.

Stressing that during the autumn-winter flight season, 36 airlines operate flights from Baku airport to 70 cities, Teymur Hasanov noted that of the existing partners, 17 are low-cost airlines.

He also added that for popular destinations from Baku there is no longer a route served by only one airline, and thus passengers are given more options.
