Minister: New cargo airport to boost Azerbaijan's role as Eurasian logistics hub

A new international cargo airport, set to be launched in 2027 within the Alat Free Economic Zone, will help transform Azerbaijan into a key logistics hub in Eurasia, Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev said on X, according to Report.
"We participated in the 10th Caspian Air Cargo Summit held in Baku. Since 2006, this summit has become the region's leading logistics event and highlights Azerbaijan's growing role in global trade," he wrote.
Nabiyev noted that Azerbaijan currently operates one of the largest and most modern air cargo fleets in the region.
"I hope that the productive discussions held in Baku by industry leaders will contribute to the development of global air cargo transportation," he added.
