The Belgian company Camco Technology is in early discussions with Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan to automate container operations in ports, Werner Peeters, a company representative told Report.
Peeters also mentioned that they are considering implementing Camco Technology solutions at Azerbaijan’s Hovsan port: “We plan to visit this port tomorrow. Digitizing terminals is essential for the future.”
He added that contracts with Middle Corridor countries could be signed next year: “We are actively participating in exhibitions and events to promote our solutions, which are not yet implemented in the region.”
The official highlighted that the company’s software significantly simplifies container transportation processes for all participants.
In the first seven months of 2024, cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor reached 2.56 million tons, a 63% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The figure is expected to reach 4.2 million tons by the end of 2024. In 2023, transportation volume along the Middle Corridor increased by 65% year-on-year, totaling 2.7 million tons.
