There is a good opportunity for the development of land transport through Azerbaijan, Roman Vassilenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, said, Report informs.
"China is one of the main partners of Kazakhstan - in terms of trade, it ranks second after Russia. Considering the 27-member European Union, the EU is also our largest trading partner and investor. But if we talk about individual countries, Russia is the first, followed by China, which has become one of the most prominent investors and invests not only in energy but also in areas such as construction, engineering, and industry.
"Now sea trade is also massive, and we do not even aspire to compete with the volume of goods transported by sea from China to Europe. But given the geopolitical turmoil, there is a perfect opportunity to develop land transport not only from China and Kazakhstan but also from the Middle Corridor through the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Black Sea, and Eastern Europe," Vassilenko stressed.
"For ten years, three countries - Kazakhstan, Russia, and Belarus - have worked hard to create the North China-Europe route, but now it is clear that there is a great need for diversity," he added.
