Freight transport in Azerbaijan increases by nearly 3% in first seven months of 2025

Azerbaijan’s transport sector moved 136.9 million tonnes of cargo from January to July 2025, marking a 3.4 million-tonne (2.5%) increase compared to the same period last year, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.

During the reporting period, transport operators also served 1.187 billion passengers, a 5% rise year-on-year.

The volume of cargo transported by non-state-owned carriers grew by 4.1%, with the private sector accounting for 79.4% of total freight moved.
