COP29: Traffic management monitoring underway

Ahead of COP29, extensive monitoring of traffic management is underway on several streets and avenues in Baku to ensure smooth and safe transport throughout the conference, Report informs.

As part of the COP29 transport plan and its designated routes, traffic monitoring will take place on November 3 from 11:00 to 14:00. The monitoring will cover Heydar Aliyev, Istiglaliyyet, Narimanov, Khatai, Tbilisi, Azadliq, and Neftchiler avenues; Lermontov, Teymur Elchin, Niyazi, Nizami, Yusif Safarov, Mikayil Huseynov, Rashid Behbudov, Khagani Rustamov, Pushkin, Abdulla Shaig, Nizami, Izmir, and Bakikhanov streets; and Mardakan, Zigh, and Airport highways. Due to planned traffic restrictions on these roads, drivers are advised to consider using alternative routes or public transportation during this period.

The monitoring, a joint operation by the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency, will test planned routes and traffic flow for this climate conference.

Earlier this month, successful traffic monitoring exercises tested various scenarios and routes using COP29 vehicles, including shuttles and cars, along with ambulances, fire engines, and hundreds of volunteers.
