Container turnover at Baku port reaches record high

In January-July of 2025, container turnover through the Baku International Sea Port, operated by Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), reached a record high, Report informs, citing the ADY.

The volume of containers handled through Baku Port during this period amounted to 60,429 TEU, a 54.2% increase compared to the same period last year, when the volume stood at 39,184 TEU.

This positive trend observed at Baku Port—recognized as the region’s most advanced logistics hub—is expected to continue through the end of the year, with projections indicating that the volume may exceed 100,000 TEU.

Following the integration of Baku Port with ADY to enhance Azerbaijan’s transit capacity, the port’s annual throughput was increased from 100,000 TEU to 150,000 TEU in a short time without any additional investment.
