Caspian storm alert: ASCO ships anchored for safety

Due to worsening weather conditions in the Caspian Sea, vessels from the Marine Transport Fleet and the Caspian Offshore Oil Fleet, operated by the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), have been directed to anchorages and safe shelters to ride out the storm, according to Report.
"Their operations are expected to resume in the evening hours," the company reported.
As of 09:00, snowy and frosty weather persisted across the entire country. The minimum air temperature recorded was -4°C in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, -3°C in the Aran region, -10°C in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and -20°C in the mountainous areas. The highest recorded snow depth was 75 cm in the Gakh district.
