The vessel "Khojaly" of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) has entered the Indian Ocean for the first time since its operation, Report informs referring to ASCO.
In March, "Khojaly" loaded 37,000 tons of soda ash in the port of Portland (US) and, having passed through the Pacific Ocean, arrived in the port of Jakarta (Indonesia). After partially unloading here, the ship headed to the Indian Ocean through the Strait of Malacca, which separates Indonesia and Malaysia.
The vessel is moving towards India, where as part of the route it will first unload in the port of Kattupalli, and then in the port of Kandla.
The ship "Khojaly" was put into operation in May last year with the aim of increasing the potential of ASCO for the transportation of goods outside the Caspian Sea and expanding the geography of its activities. Its deadweight is 38,593 tons.
The length of the vessel is 180 meters, the width is 30 meters, the draft is 10.47 meters. With a maximum speed of 15.7 knots, the ship has unlimited sailing capabilities.
