Azerbaijan to increase BTK transportation capacity

Azerbaijan plans to increase the capacity of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway, Rahman Hummatov, the Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, said, Report informs.
“In January-October 2022, 8.7 million tons of transit cargo were transported through the territory of Azerbaijan, 75% more than last year. Of this, 6.7 million tons were transported by railway. We expect to double the volume of transit cargo by the end of this year. Therefore, we plan to expand the Baku International Sea Trade Port, as well as increase the transportation capacity of the BTK,” he added.
