Azerbaijan sees nearly 3% rise in cargo transportation

In January-August of 2025, economic entities operating in Azerbaijan's transport sector carried 158 million tons of cargo, marking a year-on-year increase of 4.3 million tons, or 2.8%, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.
During the reporting period, the volume of cargo transported by private vehicles rose by 5.5%, accounting for 78.5% of total cargo transportation.
Over the eight-month period, transport operators served a total of just over 1.360 billion passengers, marking an increase of 66.7 million passengers or 5.2% year-on-year.
