Azerbaijan Railways starting work on new route from Batumi port

A new service has been launched from the port of Batumi, linking China and Europe via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), Report informs referring to the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC.
As part of the project, a feeder vessel will operate between the Georgian port of Batumi and the Romanian port of Constanta, which will deliver containers from Batumi to the port of Constanta and in the opposite direction six times a month.
The new railway (sea) communication between China and Europe will create conditions for a fast and efficient service connection between China and Europe through Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Romania.
