Azerbaijan Railways: Horadiz-Agband railway to be commissioned in mid-2024

The Horadiz-Agband railway line is planned to be commissioned in the middle of next year, Tural Abbasli, head of the construction control department of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, told Report.

He noted that the schedule is affected by the terrain, where the railway line will pass: “We work with our partners and find solutions together for each difficult section.”

The work on the design and construction of the Horadiz-Agband railway line was launched in accordance with the order of the Azerbaijani president dated March 13, 2021. Demining work continues on sections of the railway line where the expansion of the road is required.

Construction and installation works are carried out in three stages.

Azerbaijan’s longest railway bridge across the Hakari River with a length of 418 meters is being built on the Horadiz-Agband railway line.
