Azerbaijan Railways applies new water-saving technologies

As part of its sustainable development program, Azerbaijan Railways has introduced modern water treatment and recycling systems.

According to Report, the company has implemented automated washing systems for cleaning rolling stock at the Yeni Bilajari and Ganja locomotive depots.

The polluted water from the cleaning process undergoes multi-stage filtration and purification through special filters and treatment systems. It is then redirected for reuse in the washing cycle. Industrial wastewater is ultimately cleaned and discharged into the sewer system.

March 22 is recognized as World Water Day.
