Azerbaijan and Czech Republic hold discussions on economic cooperation

During a business trip to the Czech Republic, Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, held a series of meetings to discuss key issues on the economic partnership agenda between the two countries, Report informs, citing the ministry's statement.

Jabbarov held a meeting with Czech Minister of Industry and Trade, Lukas Vlcek, where the importance of Azerbaijani-Czech relations was emphasized. The discussion also highlighted the role of the Mixed Commission for Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation between the Azerbaijani and Czech governments in expanding the partnership. The significance of mutual visits and ongoing discussions was also noted. Both sides explored opportunities for enhancing bilateral trade, as well as potential cooperation in areas such as energy, industry, transportation, transit, tourism, and investments.

In a separate meeting with Czech Minister of Transport Martin Kupka, Jabbarov shared information on Azerbaijan's socio-economic goals, the progress made so far, and the country’s favorable business environment. He also highlighted Azerbaijan’s growing transportation and transit potential, as well as the opportunities being created for investors. The ministers agreed that transportation and transit are priority areas for economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic. The meeting included discussions on improving transportation infrastructure, as well as proposals for innovative ecosystems, the space industry, and startups.

In another meeting with Petr Cingr, Deputy Chairman of the Czech company Agrofert, Jabbarov emphasized the importance of efficient practices in the agricultural sector and the transition to sustainable production. He also highlighted the opportunities available for foreign investors in Azerbaijan and potential areas for cooperation. Agrofert was invited to actively collaborate and take advantage of the favorable business climate in Azerbaijan.

Jabbarov also met with Tomas Ignacak, Deputy Executive Chairman of Skoda Group. The discussions focused on Azerbaijan's economic priorities, including the implementation of green technologies. Opportunities for collaboration with Skoda Group and the application of the company’s modern technology expertise in Azerbaijan were explored.
