As a result of optimizing the bus route network in Baku city and some adjacent districts, the average bus travel time during peak hours will be reduced by 6 minutes, Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport said, according to Report.
The agency said there are plans to increase the length of bus lanes to 160 km.
Additionally, in the coming years, the number of buses operating daily will be increased to 2,800. By 2030, the bus fleet will mainly consist of environmentally friendly buses (electric buses and CNG-powered buses).
The construction and modernization of 10 depots for electric buses is planned.
