During the first quarter of 2025, a total of 5,882 passengers were transported by ferries operated by the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), Report informs, citing the company.

In January-March 2025, 4,456 passengers travelled on the Alat–Kuryk and Kuryk–Alat routes. Of these, 2,559 passengers travelled from Alat to Kuryk, while 1,897 — in the reverse direction.

During the same period, 1,426 passengers were transported between the Alat–Turkmenbashi and Turkmenbashi–Alat ports. This included 908 passengers from Alat to Turkmenbashi and 518 — in the opposite direction.

Due to the ongoing quarantine regime, Azerbaijani citizens wishing to leave the country by ferry must obtain special permission from the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers. Foreign nationals do not require such permission when departing Azerbaijan. However, both Azerbaijani and foreign citizens must obtain the same permit to enter the country by ferry.
