A conference on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) project will be held in London on June 11, Report informs, citing the event’s organizer, the Caspian Policy Center (CPC).

The conference will be held with the participation of the ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Türkiye in the UK.

“To maximize the potential commercial and socio-economic benefits of the Middle Corridor, the countries of the region should work closely with each other and with international partners. The improvement of infrastructure should be effective, sustainable and justified in terms of development. This conference will explore ways of coordinating, prioritizing and efficiently conducting business along the corridor,” CPC said.

The event will discuss the steps to eliminate institutional obstacles to conducting business in the Caspian region and expanding business opportunities within the Middle Corridor.

In addition, one of the conference panels will be devoted to the financing of Middle Corridor infrastructure. Representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the World Bank, UK Export Finance, TheCityUK, and other companies and financial institutions will participate in the panel discussions.

The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route starts from Southeast Asia and China and runs through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and further to Türkiye and European countries.
