Anar Rzayev: Nearly 400 green buses to be launched in Baku by end of 2025

By the end of 2025, private carriers plan to launch nearly 400 environmentally friendly buses in Baku, Anar Rzayev, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, Report informs.

Speaking at a public discussion on “Green Transport Business: Opportunities and Perspectives,” Rzayev highlighted the current state of Baku's bus network. He noted that 166 electric buses and 55 CNG-powered environmentally clean buses are already in operation.

"This year, private carriers are expected to purchase nearly 400 additional environmentally friendly buses and put them into operation in Baku," Rzayev stated.

The chairman also noted a gradual decline in occupancy rates, with the average number of passengers per bus per day decreasing from 630 in 2023 to 620 in 2024, and further to 560 in the current period of 2025.

"This means that the occupancy rate on buses has decreased to some extent, showing that there are enough buses in the capital," he added.
