Alat-Astara-Iran state border highway under repair

The section from kilometer 217 to kilometer 243 kilometer of the Alat-Astara-Iran state border highway (M-3) is under capital repair, Report informs, citing the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads.

The 26-kilometer-long section is being reconstructed according to the 3rd technical grade. The width of the road is expanded to 12 meters.

Earthworks, digging, and widening works have already been done on the section to obtain the standard road width. According to the technological sequence, the construction of the road base and the laying of the bottom layer of the new asphalt-concrete cover are currently being carried out.

In parallel with the works, the construction of culverts along the road and culverts is being carried out in necessary places to transfer water. The construction of 43 culverts has already been completed.

In addition to providing safe movement of people, the reconstruction works will ensure comfortable movement along the road and will facilitate the transportation of goods and passengers.
