Agreement on preparation of feasibility study for Trans-Afghan railway to be signed

Uzbekistan, Pakistan and Afghanistan will sign a document on the preparation of the feasibility study for the Trans-Afghan railway, Report informs, citing the Taliban Foreign Ministry of Afghanistan.

"Today, high-level delegations headed by the foreign ministers of Uzbekistan and Pakistan will visit Kabul to participate in bilateral and trilateral talks. The delegations also include the Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan and the Minister of Railways of Pakistan. The main outcome of the visit will be the signing of an agreement on the feasibility study project for the Trans-Afghan railway corridor," the ministry said.

The document will be signed by the Acting Minister of Public Works of Afghanistan, the Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan and the Minister of Railways of Pakistan.

Before the signing ceremony, the parties will hold trilateral political consultations chaired by the Foreign Minister of Afghanistan and will discuss issues related to political interaction, economic cooperation, and ensuring regional stability.

After the signing ceremony, representatives of Uzbekistan and Pakistan will hold bilateral meetings with a number of high-ranking Afghan officials.
