Azerbaijan planning to produce electric vehicles

Projects for the production and export of electric vehicles may be implemented in Azerbaijan in the coming years, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers Association Gyulay Hasanova told Report.

According to her, in 2024 it is planned to produce 8 thousand cars in Azerbaijan, of which 2 thousand will be trucks and buses. According to the executive director, prices for locally produced cars range from 17,800 manats ($10,464) to 160,000 manats ($94,059).

According to the State Statistics Committee, over the four months of this year, 254 trucks (+75.2%) and 948 cars (-24.7%) were produced in Azerbaijan.
