Anglo Asian Mining plans to triple copper production in 5 years

Anglo Asian Mining plc, a British gold, copper and silver producer operating in Azerbaijan, plans to increase copper production to 36,000 tons per annum by 2028, Report informs citing the company.

According to the company’s 2024-2028 Strategic plan for transformation to mid-tier copper and gold production, in 2023, copper production in Azerbaijan is forecasted to be 10,300-11,200 tons. The Company forecasts total production increasing by 33.9% to 38.4% to 15,000-15,500 tons.

According to this plan, in 2026-2027, copper production in Azerbaijan will be 24,000-26,000 tons, 54.8%-67.7% more than the previous production forecast.

Copper production is forecasted to increase to approximately 36,000 plus tons per annum from 2028, which is 50-38.5% more than in previous years.
