Tokyo 2020: Azerbaijan's first Paralympic athlete to join competitions

Today, Azerbaijani athletes will begin competing in the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games.
According to Report, on the next day of the competitions, Parvin Mammadov will participate in powerlifting.
The performance of the Paralympic athlete in the weight category of 49 kg starts at 06:00 Baku time.
Although the Azerbaijani team won 36 licenses for Tokyo 2020, judoka Ramil Gasimov was disqualified due to a coronavirus infection. Thus, the country will be represented by 35 athletes at the Games, a record number compared to previous Paralympic Games. Twelve of them are in para athletics, ten in para judo, four in para taekwondo, four in powerlifting, three in swimming, and two in the shooting.
The Tokyo Paralympic Games will end on September 5.
